Assist in implementing absorption costing methodology, including defining and collecting cost drivers (such as procedure volumes, resource utilization hours, and allocation keys), and perform related tasks such as data validation and periodic adjustments.
Calculate direct and indirect costs across multiple dimensions — patient encounter, procedure, service, payer, cost center — using methodologies such as absorption costing.
Prepare and maintain cost monitoring controls by department, by production and by services.
Monitor economic and care-related indicators, including cost per patient, cost per department, and cost per procedure.
Support internal and external audits, providing evidence and explanations for cost variances.
Build management reports, dashboards and critical analyses to support decision-making.
Work in partnership with clinical areas, procurement, billing and accounting to obtain information and align costing criteria.
Participate in the review and optimization of costing processes and the accounting/settlement flow.
Participate in the annual and monthly budgeting cycle, consolidating data, monitoring variances (actual vs. budget) and proposing corrective actions.
Support analysis of the financial impact of physician reimbursements, verifying contract compliance and identifying optimization opportunities.
Contribute to economic feasibility studies for new services, technologies or expansions, including pricing proposals for private procedures.
Ensure the quality and integrity of data extracted from ERP systems, collaborating with master data and configuration teams.
Identify operational waste and propose process improvements.
Comply with internal regulations, quality management system requirements, observe and comply with ANS regulations, as well as health, hygiene and occupational safety standards and procedures inherent to the sector; use PPE/CPE (personal protective equipment/collective protective equipment) when required by the activity.
Perform other duties inherent to the role or as requested by the immediate supervisor, provided the employee is qualified and the tasks are consistent with their knowledge and experience.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or related fields.
Postgraduate degree in Controllership, Finance or Hospital Management is desirable.
Experience in cost analysis, budgeting or controllership, preferably in the hospital or healthcare sector.
Advanced Excel proficiency (Power Query, Power Pivot), BI tools (Power BI or Tableau) and hospital ERP systems (TASY, MV or similar).
Knowledge of hospital cost accounting, procedure tables (TUSS, CBHPM) and medical reimbursement rules.
Familiarity with health legislation (ANS) and contract management.
