Head of Accounting – DACH

Role Overview

• Operational responsibility
• Overall responsibility for proper and high-quality accounting in accordance with HGB and IFRS
• Delivering timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Ensuring timely and high-quality reporting
• Compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Primary contact for auditors, tax advisors and authorities
• Managing audit processes
• Building and leading the organization
• Developing and implementing an efficient target operating model for Accounting in the DACH region based on the global Finance Target Operating Model
• Gradually consolidating teams across multiple legal entities and leading and developing teams of local employees as well as nearshore and offshore teams
• Promoting collaboration and a unified team culture across legal entity and country boundaries
• Harmonizing and standardizing processes with regard to global standards and IT integration initiatives
• Identifying and implementing automation and efficiency opportunities
• Providing subject-matter support for IT and system implementation projects in the DACH region
• Ensuring consistent accounting policies and standards and implementing global guidelines and directives
• Further development of the internal control system (ICS) and implementation of requirements in accordance with SOX
• Minimizing risks in the accounting and reporting environment
• Close collaboration with Tax, Controlling and other relevant functions
• Advising on accounting matters
• Central point of contact for complex and new accounting issues within the DACH region
• Assessing and implementing new accounting requirements under HGB and IFRS
• Advising management and adjacent functions on the accounting impacts of business transactions
• Close coordination with Group Accounting, Tax and auditors on complex matters
• Close collaboration with the executives of the relevant legal entities as well as the Sector and Practice Leads in the DACH region
• Acting as the interface between Group Finance and local entities
• Participation in strategic initiatives

Requirements

• Completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field
• Extensive professional experience in accounting within an IT service company, ideally in an international matrix organization
• Strong leadership skills with experience leading distributed, diverse teams and a proven track record in transformation and execution
• Excellent knowledge of HGB and IFRS
• Business-partnering mindset
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Hands-on mentality combined with strategic thinking
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA
• Proficient with reporting tools (SAC, Power BI) and data analysis
• Affinity for digitization and automation in finance
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
