Role Overview
Support the successful delivery of EWR’s business priorities:
Development, execution, and governance of action plans, with robust tracking mechanisms to ensure timely delivery of strategic objectives.
Finance and Budget Management:
Ownership of financial reporting processes and budget management, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and alignment with department budget spend.
Competency and Training Management Coordination:
Strategic coordination and governance of Health, Safety and Security training programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational requirements and regulatory standards; overseeing training delivery, maintaining accurate and compliant records, and ensuring workforce competency across all relevant personnel.
Evifile:
Management of the Evifile system, ensuring effective management of Health, Safety and Security (HSS) data tools; maintaining data integrity, driving system utilisation, and supporting reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Close Call and Incident Reporting:
Manage and produce monthly dashboard reports from the Evifile system.
Governance and management of the Safe and Secure Close Call reporting system, ensuring timely allocation, investigation, and resolution of all reported incidents.
Event Management:
Manage the accident and incident database, ensuring timely logging and escalation of accidents and incidents where necessary.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Ensure the collection, collation, and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including monthly internal reporting.
Single point of contact with all EWR Suppliers for the collation and submission of all HSS data.
HSS Communications and Intranet Content Management:
Develop and publish timely HSS media including newsletters, bulletins and alerts in consultation with corporate comms and our supply chain communities.
Management and continuous enhancement of intranet content, ensuring Health, Safety and Security Connect page provides accurate, up-to-date, and accessible information; supporting effective communication, employee engagement, and alignment with safe and secure.
Health & Safety Management System (HSMS):
Work with the HSMS Manager to Support the maintenance of the HSMS, including the annual review of key policies and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
Oversees the regular review and update of our legal register.
Document Management:
Oversight of Health, Safety and Security document management on SharePoint.
Ensuring structured storage, version control, and compliance with internal governance procedures; maintaining document integrity, accessibility, and audit readiness across all HSS records.
Risk Assessment Process Oversight:
Support and co-ordination of the risk assessment process, ensuring timely review, tracking, and closure of actions by the HSS team; contributing to the effective management of organisational risk and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Security practices
Office H&S Compliance:
Working with the Facilities team with the provision of providing proactive support for office-based Health, Safety and Security compliance, including the planning and execution of monthly workplace inspections and the maintenance of Health & Safety notice boards to ensure visibility of key information, regulatory compliance, and promotion of a safe working environment.
Team Coordination:
Manage weekly team whereabouts and distribute regular team updates to support effective communication and collaboration.
Lone Working Process Implementation:
Support the implementation and roll-out of the PeopleSafe system, ensuring it aligns with lone working safety protocols and manage the day to day running of the system.
PPE Procurement and Distribution:
Oversee the procurement, stock management, and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure workforce safety.
Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Process Support:
Management of the Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessment process, including monitoring the DSE portal, managing equipment procurement and asset registers, and ensuring compliance with ergonomic standards and employee wellbeing requirements.
Administrative Support:
Provide wider administrative support to the HSS team, including managing the HSS Inbox.
Collating the information for the weekly exec report, diary management, organising team meetings, and recording action logs for HSS meetings.
Meetings & Representation:
Attend and contribute to key project and HSS meetings, including:
Weekly and monthly team meetings
Joint Health and Safety Forum Meetings
Training and Development Meetings
Security Meetings
Evifile and Peoplesafe Meetings
HSS Forums and working groups
Provide timely feedback on key meeting outcomes to the Head of HSS, including escalation of any critical issues as necessary.
Training & Development:
Support the ongoing training and development of teams in relation to health, safety and security.
Ensure knowledge transfer and competency development across delivery teams.
Safe and Secure:
Promote and embed our Safe & Secure principles across the project lifecycle.
Proactively seek innovation and creative solutions to HSS challenges and opportunities.
Act as a role model for EWR Co’s safe and secure commitments and take responsibility for your own and others Health, Safety and Security.
Collaborate with the HSS Team to create HSS communications, bulletins and support HSS Campaigns that reflect and address key company design and construction risks, are aligned with NR and support industry goals and best practice.
Take responsibility of your own and others’ health and safety by adopting and working to the EWR Co Health and Safety principles.
Demonstrates a cost-conscious mindset, keeping taxpayers’ money at the forefront of decisions.
Shows a commitment to innovation by proactively seeking creative solutions to challenges and opportunities.

Requirements
NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work qualification (desirable)
IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely
Business Management Qualification (desirable)
Data reporting and analysis experience
