Support the delivery of comprehensive energy management services, maintaining required training and competency while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
Identify and support potential renewable energy projects across the portfolio, actively assisting client renewable initiatives through data preparation and analysis
Identify, facilitate, and support approval processes for utility rebates and other incentive opportunities
Assist in identifying internal and external factors impacting energy consumption, coordinate actions to address risks and opportunities, and support evaluation of performance improvements, including building management system optimization in accordance with industry best practice
Support energy supply, demand, monitoring, and reporting programs, serving as a key geographic contact point while contributing to continual improvement of energy performance
Support team adherence to EnMP requirements for client portfolio, assist in consolidation of regulatory data, and help ensure timely and accurate submissions for designated locations
Assist in supporting energy conservation targets by preparing business cases and scope of work for energy reduction opportunities
Help maintain energy management action plans in Envizi with estimated costs, savings, and ROI, and accurately calculate and record savings for completed actions with supporting evidence including metering analysis and engineering calculations
Support execution of energy conservation assessment surveys per corporate standards and procedures
Collaborate effectively with other JLL service lines (Real Estate, Finance, Projects, FM, and Procurement) to deliver integrated energy and sustainability solutions
Support client relationships and contribute to business development efforts including proposal development
Execute site-specific HSSE programs in accordance with IBM Environmental Requirements, local legislation, and JLL safety standards
Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and workplace safety evaluations
Maintain HSSE documentation, incident reporting, and corrective action tracking in IBM's CMMS system
Support permit-to-work programs including working at heights, hot works, confined spaces, and electrical work
Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, participate in evacuation drills, and provide disaster response support
Conduct quarterly verification of general safety and health managers, health officers, and appointed occupational physicians enrollment status
Prepare and submit dismissal/appointment reports and notification forms to the competent Labor Standards Inspection Office as required
Create annual plans for the Health Committee, facilitate meetings, prepare minutes, and ensure employee notification
Provide support for self-defense firefighting drills and ensure fire safety compliance
Manage disaster equipment inventory, emergency food supplies, AED (Automated External Defibrillator) equipment, and First Aid Cabinet inventory
Prepare and submit accident reports (Forms No. 22, 23, and 24) to the local competent Labor Standards Inspection Office, including accident investigation support
Investigate workplace incidents and near misses, conducting root cause analysis and coordinating corrective actions
Implement and report Self-Assessment of Control for local legal requirements and provide Compliance Review support for IBM site reviews
Manage compliance with "Safety Guidebook for Sub-supplier Companies" (Hazardous work) issued by IBM Japan and respond to Labor Standards Bureau inquiries
Provide monthly reports of HSSE support activities and ensure timely reporting to regional HSSE leadership and IBM stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety, or related technical field
Professional safety certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred
Environmental management certification (ISO 14001 Lead Auditor) advantageous
Relevant energy management certifications or experience preferred (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, ISO 50001 Lead Auditor, LEED AP, CEM)
Japanese statutory safety qualifications (Health Officer, Fire Defense Manager, or similar) preferred
First Aid, CPR, and AED training certification required
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in energy management, sustainability operations, HSSE coordination, or related field
Experience supporting energy or sustainability programs in commercial or corporate environments with multinational corporate HSSE programs preferred
Familiarity with Energy Management Systems (EnMS) and ISO standards (50001, 14001, 45001)
Experience with Japanese occupational health and safety regulations, Labor Standards Act requirements, and Labor Standards Inspection Office reporting procedures
Understanding of Health Committee operations and statutory safety management in Japan
Experience with incident investigation, reporting, and corrective action implementation
Understanding of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building management systems
Familiarity with energy monitoring and reporting systems (experience with Envizi is a plus) and CMMS systems
Experience managing emergency preparedness programs including fire drills and disaster response
Knowledge of chemical management, hazardous materials handling, and sustainability metrics
