Lead significant project teams using specialized engineering knowledge and skills on complex situations
Delegate and oversee the quality and timeliness of project deliverables
Manage implementation of energy-saving projects for small business and industrial customers
Provide subject matter expertise and technical direction to staff, mentoring and training junior engineers
Calculate energy efficiency metrics using simulations or spreadsheets
Develop and review energy savings calculations and write technical work papers
Perform research and provide technical support to the team
Review and contribute to technical report writing
Requirements
Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Manufactured Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or another directly related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related energy engineering occupation
Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in a related field plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related energy engineering occupation
2 years of experience with reviewing technical resource manuals for lighting, HVAC, building envelope, compressed air, refrigeration, and related systems
2 years of experience with developing calculation spreadsheets for potential energy savings
2 years of experience with performing in-field inspections to assess lighting fixtures and verifying energy savings
1 year of experience with reviewing energy efficiency program evaluation reports
1 year of experience with performing in-field inspections assessing HVAC systems and building controls
1 year of experience with developing scoping-level calculations for energy savings potential
Familiarity with state and federal energy efficiency codes and policies, including Illinois state policies
