Independently serves as the Pesticide Use Permit System Coordinator
Reviews all applications for pesticide use permits, determines if requirements have been met, and issues permits or deficiencies as appropriate
Coordinates with the Bureau of Scientific Evaluation & Technical Assistance Hydrologist and Soil Scientist team to analyze and identify restricted soils, well setbacks, and reviews restricted areas limiting pesticide applications
Assists the supervisor with developing, administering, and ensuring compliance with Rule 5E-2 F.A.C.
Maintains advanced knowledge of Rules 5E-2, & 5E-9, Florida Administrative Code as it relates to pesticide permitting
Answers inquiries from the public regarding permit applications and assists with permit submission
Develops written guidance, training materials, and resources for industry and internal staff to outline requirements
Facilitates resolution of contested cases by providing expert-level review and determination
Requirements
A high school diploma or its equivalent
Seven (7) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work, regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, business administration, customer or public relations or investigations
An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals seven (7) years can substitute for the above requirements
A bachelor’s degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work, regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, business administration, customer or public relations or investigations
Requires possession of a valid driver license.
