Drive the annual compliance cycle for the Latam region and its countries, including (among others): execution of compliance risk assessments, compliance reporting and monitoring, regulatory identification, compliance change and adherence processes, investigations, facilitating training and awareness sessions, and providing compliance advice.
Act as a trusted advisor, sparring partner, and countervailing power for the Regional General Manager and leadership team, contributing to the Regional Management Team and relevant committees.
Plan, structure, organize, manage, and control the organization, processes, and staffing of the Latam Compliance function.
Guide and oversee the Local Compliance Officers in each Latam market, ensuring local compliance programs are aligned with global expectations and regional requirements, while being fit for local business and regulatory contexts. Attract, lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of compliance professionals who embrace DLL values and contribute to a best‑in‑class compliant environment for all DLL members.
Manage the Brazil Compliance team on a daily basis.
Act as a contact point for the Brazil regulator as the Local Compliance Officer and act as the Brazil Privacy Officer.
Serve as a linking pin and facilitator of communication and projects involving the group compliance expert departments (Privacy, Financial Crime, Core Compliance, Conduct, ESG) and relevant first‑ and second‑line teams (Compliance Officers, Regional Risk Officer, Heads of ACC, AML Team Leads, Privacy Executives and Coordinators, RCF Testers, Operations staff, etc.).
Monitor and report on regulatory developments in the region, and on compliance with local and international legislation, regulations, compliance policies, and DLL/Group standards.
Contribute to the Global Compliance mission, strategy, objectives, compliance cycle, annual plan, and budget, deriving a fit‑for‑purpose Compliance plan for DLL Latam.
Set strategic Compliance priorities for the Regional Management Team and Brazil Management Team to execute and achieve the ambitions defined in the Latam Transformation, DLL Global Strategy, and Global Compliance Annual Plan.
Actively participate in the Global Compliance Management Team, contributing to the continued progression under the Global Compliance Annual Plan and Compliance Monitoring and Policy Frameworks.
Drive, facilitate, and/or advise on the implementation of global and regional compliance policies, standards, and procedures in the local markets.
Oversee and contribute to open relationships with the home regulator and local regulators, ensuring timely communication and escalation on relevant compliance themes or issues.
Promote ethics and integrity initiatives throughout the region, liaising with Group Compliance on key matters such as Speak Ups, Code of Conduct infringements, and (compliance) investigations.
Proactively conduct stakeholder analysis for tasks and projects, identifying and prioritizing key stakeholders, and integrating their feedback into planning and execution.
Achieve on‑time delivery of tasks/projects and reduce delivery time or rework through accurate planning, streamlined processes, and timely resource allocation—ensuring high‑quality deliverables that meet regulatory and group expectations.
Requirements
Proven and progressive experience in an international senior leadership role, ideally responsible for Compliance strategy development, execution, organizational development, and compliance operations in Latam markets.
Master’s degree in business, finance, or law.
Experience with financial services regulations.
Inspirational leadership with the ability to motivate team members through clear direction.
Strong business acumen: understanding of business drivers, financials, and excellent influencing skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and engage (senior) stakeholders in a matrix organization.
