About this role
Role Overview
Lead and partner with Subscription Finance Originations and Relationship Managers to underwrite, manage, and grow a diversified portfolio of subscription credit facilities and institutional sponsor relationships.
Underwrite private investment funds across multiple strategies, including buyout, growth equity, secondaries, private credit, real assets, and real estate.
Evaluate fund structures, legal documentation, and investor bases to determine credit quality, advance rates, and borrowing base composition.
Analyze a broad range of investor types, including pension funds, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, feeder vehicles, and high‑net‑worth investors.
Prepare comprehensive written credit memoranda and financial analyses, assign risk ratings, and present transactions to senior management and credit committees.
Structure and approve new facilities, amendments, extensions, and waivers in accordance with internal credit policy and risk appetite.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of loan booking, credit approval, and ongoing monitoring requirements within nCino and related systems.
Proactively monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and recommend mitigants or structural enhancements as appropriate.
Contribute to strategic initiatives focused on process improvement, portfolio optimization, data quality, and scalability.
Maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships through clear communication and commercially focused problem‑solving.
Mentor junior team members and support talent development across the group.
Represent the underwriting and portfolio management function in cross‑functional forums with Legal, Risk, Operations, and senior leadership.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Eight or more years of relevant experience
Extensive knowledge of commercial/corporate lending and credit standards, policies, procedures and products
Experience in subscription finance and/or underwriting structured credit facilities for private equity clients.
Familiarity with investor types and their risk profiles.
Ability to execute transactions under tight timelines.
Strong technical and analytical skills, including financial statement analysis and risk assessment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong relationship management and business development skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel.
Proficiency in credit systems such as nCino and other loan booking platforms.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
