Procurement Specialist II

Role Overview

• Research and identify potential suppliers for direct-buy shipyard procurements.
• Lead sourcing, bid evaluation, selection, procurement, and delivery of materials and services.
• Evaluate, select, negotiate and execute purchase orders and contracts.
• Ensure purchase order terms meet technical, schedule, quality, and classification society requirements.
• Collect vendor information for cost models and reports.
• Manage supplier performance and oversee progress against budget.
• Act as liaison between suppliers and project managers to ensure technical requirements are met.
• Approve milestone payments and negotiate subcontract change orders as needed.
• Verify status of material deliveries and expedite when necessary.
• Ensure that product manuals and required documents are received with delivered materials.

Requirements

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Science, Finance or Law.
• Minimum 2 years of sourcing, bid evaluation, negotiation, and execution of various types of purchase agreements in a large manufacturing organization, preferably in the shipbuilding industry.
• Professional certification or training from an accredited procurement society such as PMAC, SCMP, P. Log., or APICS CPIM is desirable.
