Research and identify potential suppliers for direct-buy shipyard procurements.
Lead sourcing, bid evaluation, selection, procurement, and delivery of materials and services.
Evaluate, select, negotiate and execute purchase orders and contracts.
Ensure purchase order terms meet technical, schedule, quality, and classification society requirements.
Collect vendor information for cost models and reports.
Manage supplier performance and oversee progress against budget.
Act as liaison between suppliers and project managers to ensure technical requirements are met.
Approve milestone payments and negotiate subcontract change orders as needed.
Verify status of material deliveries and expedite when necessary.
Ensure that product manuals and required documents are received with delivered materials.
Requirements
A diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Science, Finance or Law.
Minimum 2 years of sourcing, bid evaluation, negotiation, and execution of various types of purchase agreements in a large manufacturing organization, preferably in the shipbuilding industry.
Professional certification or training from an accredited procurement society such as PMAC, SCMP, P. Log., or APICS CPIM is desirable.
