Creates engaging multimedia content that translates complex academic concepts into clear, visually compelling learning experiences aligned with course objectives
Independently supports multimedia projects, however, will need support for bringing in new ideas or approach
Partners with instructional designers, faculty, and media teams to develop and integrate multimedia solutions that support course goals and the overall learning experience
Responsible for working with faculty and instructional designers to determine and contribute creative solutions for presenting course content
Ensures multimedia assets meet accessibility standards and quality expectations while maintaining consistency with institutional guidelines
Contributes to course development workflows by managing media assets, supporting production processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in multimedia design, digital media, graphic design, educational technology, instructional design, or a related field
Experience developing multimedia or digital media assets in higher education, corporate training, or a comparable learning environment
Experience using professional multimedia tools for graphics, video editing, or interactive media development
Experience working within collaborative project teams
At least three years experience developing educational multimedia materials
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)
Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital learning, such as WCAG 2.1 and Section 508, and their application to multimedia content
Familiarity with Quality Matters
Experience creating instructional videos or educational media for academic audiences
Experience working within structured course development or instructional design production environments
Experience in graphic design or motion graphics
Illustration experience is a plus
Experience creating digital learning media such as graphics, instructional videos, animations, or interactive elements
Experience developing multimedia with multiple tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, video capture software, photo manipulation, or similar media production software
