In this dual role, you are responsible for key processes at the interface between HR and finance.
Manage full employee administration: employment contracts, onboarding, employee data and offboarding in compliance with GDPR and employment law.
Support applications for public funding and prepare reports for research and development projects.
Handle accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification, payment preparation, and reconciliation with suppliers/customers.
Post general ledger entries and perform account reconciliations.
Assist with the monthly close process and prepare payment runs.
Serve as the primary contact for employee questions regarding payroll and coordinate with external payroll service providers.
Requirements
Completed commercial training (e.g., accountant, office administrator) or a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field
Several years of professional experience in accounting and/or payroll
Solid knowledge of German payroll processes and social security regulations
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end closing procedures
Familiarity with German tax and employment law regulations
Confident use of HRIS systems (preferably Personio) and accounting software such as DATEV or SAP, as well as expense management tools (Navan, Concur, Lanes & Planes or similar)
Proficiency in Excel and comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite
Full professional proficiency in German (C2) and strong English skills (B2)
A professional certification in accounting or payroll (e.g., certified accountant, payroll specialist) is a strong plus.
