Build, hire, and lead a team of facilities technicians and engineers responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems (UPS, generators, chillers, HVAC, electrical distribution)
Develop and implement all operational procedures — SOPs, MOPs, EOPs — and establish the standards we'll scale globally
Own site reliability and uptime; lead incident response, root-cause analyses, and post-incident reviews
Define and track KPIs across safety, availability, and operational efficiency; report findings to senior leadership
Partner with Construction and Design Engineering on commissioning of new sites and infrastructure projects
Manage vendor relationships, maintenance contracts, and on-call schedules
Drive continuous improvement — identifying inefficiencies and implementing fixes before they become problems
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO, SOC, ESG/sustainability requirements)
Requirements
8+ years of experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or mission-critical environments (power generation, industrial, military backgrounds also considered)
5+ years managing technical teams in a 24/7 operational environment
Hands-on knowledge of MEP systems: power (UPS, generators, switchgear), cooling (chillers, HVAC, CRAC units), and electrical distribution
Experience writing and implementing SOPs, MOPs, and maintenance programs
Comfortable building processes from scratch in a fast-moving environment
Strong communicator — able to work across engineering, construction, and executive stakeholders
Familiarity with DCIM/CMMS tools and change management processes
