Transport Operations Lead

Role Overview

• Lead and manage depot transport operations
• Ensuring full compliance with all driver, vehicle, and Operator Licence legislation
• Drive operational efficiency through effective planning, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement of transport strategies and cost control
• Develop and manage driver teams, including training, performance, and employee relations
• Oversee fleet maintenance, compliance records, and Health & Safety standards

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar transport role, ideally within a 3PL environment
• Strong knowledge of route planning, driver hours, working time directive, and transport legislation (International CPC would be advantageous!)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• Experience using vehicle management tools (e.g., Tacho-master, Microlise are a good to have!)
• Resilient and proactive mindset
