Represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in a variety of complex civil litigation matters
Work on complex civil litigation teams challenging federal actions
Maintain an active caseload, including working actively on litigation strategy, drafting pleadings, preparing and arguing dispositive motions, and trial
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief State Trial Counsel
Support, lead and consult with Assistant Attorneys General on specific complex civil litigation matters
Work closely with and assist the Chief State Trial Counsel to carry out OSTC’s mission.
Requirements
Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar
At least three (3) years of relevant civil litigation experience
A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant complex civil litigation and trial experience for State Trial Counsel
Knowledge of state and federal civil procedure
Effective oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to work in a fast-paced public sector law office and meet deadlines.
