Independently lead commercial contract negotiations with customers across the APJ region, including SaaS subscription agreements, order forms, amendments, NDAs, vendor agreements, and partner agreements.
Partner closely with Sales, Security, Finance, Product, and other internal stakeholders to provide practical legal guidance that supports business objectives while managing risk.
Support the establishment and scaling of Optro’s legal and compliance operations in APJ, including helping develop regional contracting processes and best practices.
Advise internal teams on applicable APJ privacy and regulatory requirements, including Singapore PDPC, ASEAN MCCs, Japan PPC, and cross-border data transfer considerations.
Manage the full contract lifecycle from initial request through negotiation, internal approvals, execution, and ongoing compliance obligations.
Identify opportunities to streamline and improve contracting workflows, templates, and legal processes as the company continues to scale globally.
Support regional entity creation and ongoing corporate compliance requirements in Singapore and the broader APJ region.
Collaborate cross-functionally with global legal and business teams to ensure consistency in commercial practices and risk management across regions.
Requirements
4–8 years of in-house transactional legal experience with direct interaction with customers, vendors, partners, and senior internal stakeholders.
4+ years of experience negotiating SaaS agreements, amendments, and order forms with enterprise customers on the sell-side.
Strong understanding of the end-to-end commercial contracting process.
Knowledge of APJ privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
Team-oriented mindset with sound judgment on escalation and cross-functional collaboration.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
Japanese language capability strongly preferred.
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Singapore.
Must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident to support entity creation and ongoing compliance obligations.
