Supporting local city press conferences and building and maintaining relationships with reporters and Flock Safety’s public sector customers.
Handling a high volume and challenging PR environment with tenacity and persistence.
Establishing a weekly high volume of positive press coverage.
Responding quickly with sound judgment to daily media inquiries.
Requirements
4-6 years of communications experience either with an agency or in-house, preferably for a high growth tech company.
Direct experience dealing with reporters is required.
Strong public speaking skills.
Experience dealing with public sector employees (law enforcement, elected officials, or city/county employees) is also a requirement.
Ability to engage with, develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, familiarity in press release and media pitch writing styles, and a solid understanding of the media landscape.
Strong organization and time management skills. You are able to balance a pipeline of multiple projects in various stages of development each week.
Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and quickly in a fast-moving environment. You meet deadlines, respond to requests quickly, and don’t require reminders to accomplish assigned tasks.
Ability to receive and give constructive feedback – and act on it quickly.
Ability to build trust with internal stakeholders and ensure all priorities are consistently in alignment.
