About this role
Role Overview
- Produce quality electrical system designs including machinery controls, safety circuits and low-voltage power
- Develop and apply expertise in technologies such as PLCs, motion controls, distributed I/O, sensing and pneumatic controls
- Produce, modify and manage high quality electrical design schematics
- Component specification for safety and control hardware and power supplies
- Support development and mechanical engineers with equipment testing and fault finding
- Document evidence of safety and regulatory compliance
- Support the validation of technical requirements to ensure common goals
- Hands-on support in the creation and modification of machine and test hardware
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of electrical design for machinery control and low-voltage power systems
- Experience in the design, manufacture, testing and commissioning of machinery electrical panels
- Ability to create and contribute to risk assessments
- Previous experience and knowledge of designing and validating safety systems
- Working knowledge of the latest Low Voltage Directive
- An electrical engineering qualification
- Electrical CAD software proficiency is desirable
- BS 7671 qualification would be advantageous
