Own end-to-end patch lifecycle activities across assigned application portfolios, including planning, scheduling, execution, validation, and compliance tracking;
Lead patch management activities across internet-facing, DMZ, and enterprise infrastructure environments;
Drive expansion of Ansible Tower (AAP2) automation across Linux environments and associated infrastructure platforms;
Architect, develop, and maintain reusable Ansible playbooks and orchestration pipelines supporting reboot sequencing, dependency management, startup and shutdown logic, and health checks;
Lead onboarding of applications, middleware platforms, and infrastructure dependencies into automated patch management frameworks;
Collaborate with application teams to integrate technologies such as JBoss, Oracle Database, and related middleware components into automated workflows;
Operate a dual-track patch management model supporting both automated and manual remediation activities where automation gaps exist;
Lead and mentor a pod team of engineers by assigning workstreams, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring delivery accountability;
Support surge capacity execution during vulnerability remediation events and high-priority compliance initiatives;
Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to resolve blockers and ensure successful remediation outcomes;
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation coverage, operational reliability, execution efficiency, and remediation velocity;
Align execution activities with patch management backlogs, compliance objectives, remediation targets, and organizational timelines.
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on experience with Ansible and Ansible Tower (AAP2), including playbook development, orchestration design, and automation pipeline implementation;
5+ years of deep Linux administration expertise with RHEL and enterprise Linux distributions, including patch management and automation enablement;
5+ years of experience working with Red Hat automation and orchestration frameworks within production environments;
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise patch automation programs within large-scale or regulated environments;
Hands-on working knowledge of middleware technologies including JBoss and Oracle Database, with experience integrating dependencies into automated patch management workflows;
Practical experience with enterprise patch management tools such as HPSA, SCCM, or equivalent technologies;
Experience supporting Windows Server and Windows 10/11 patch management activities is considered an advantage;
Strong understanding of change management processes and production governance frameworks;
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills;
Ability to independently manage priorities and remediate backlogs;
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management capabilities;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across infrastructure, network, security, and application team.
