About this role
Role Overview
Provides individual and family-centered nursing care and treatment to pediatric, elderly, acutely ill, or injured residents.
Integrates technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the individual needs of residents and families.
Assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.
Delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a resident or group of residents based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
Experience in a long term care setting such as a nursing facility (NF), skilled nursing facility (SNF), or assisted living (AL).
Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing
Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines such as treatments and organizes work to carry out assignments.
Stays alert to residents’ condition and brings concerns to the attention of the RN immediately.

Licensed Practical Nurses may work all three shifts, weekends and holidays depending on work location.
Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established by specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.
Schedules, including shift rotation requirements and hours of work, may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.
