Manage the peer review workflow from manuscript submission through to editorial decisions
Evaluate and triage submissions to determine suitability and next steps
Identify and select appropriate reviewers and manage reviewer communications
Assess reviewer feedback and revised manuscripts to support final editorial decisions
Communicate effectively with authors, reviewers, and researchers globally
Support manuscript transfers across relevant journals when required
Contribute to cross-functional process improvement initiatives
Support strategic content acquisition and development
Requirements
PhD in optics, photonics, physics, or a closely related field with experience in one or more of the areas (bio-)photonics, optoelectronic devices, theoretical physics/chemistry, spintronics, metamaterials, electromagnetic shielding, fiber optics
Strong interest in scientific publishing and research communication
Familiarity with the peer review process (as an author and/or reviewer)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Critical thinking and decision-making ability
Ability to communicate diplomatically in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Previous experience with a manuscript handling system (e.g., Editorial Manager, Scholar One or Research Exchange) and postdoctoral experience would be advantageous
