Senior Counsel – Compliance & Regulatory

Role Overview

• Monitor and interpret regulations applicable to the business, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Support the implementation, review, and enhancement of policies, standards, procedures, and internal controls.
• Work on matters related to anti-money laundering (AML/CFT), integrity, due diligence and risk management.
• Conduct regulatory analyses and prepare legal opinions related to the company's operations.
• Support audits, inspections and responses to regulatory bodies and competent authorities.
• Draft reports, mandatory communications and regulatory documentation when applicable.
• Draft, review, negotiate and validate medium
• and high-complexity contracts with suppliers, partners, sponsors and service providers.
• Issue legal opinions and provide guidance to various business areas.
• Support the structuring of new products, services and business initiatives from a legal and regulatory perspective.
• Ensure the legal compliance of campaigns, promotional activities and commercial initiatives.
• Manage the monitoring of judicial and administrative proceedings, in coordination with external law firms.
• Define litigation strategies and monitor legal contingencies.
• Draft and review pleadings, submissions, notices, opinions and legal documents.
• Monitor deadlines, obligations and risks related to the company's litigation.
• Identify, assess and propose mitigation measures for legal, regulatory and operational risks.
• Contribute to the improvement of processes, workflows and controls within the legal department.
• Support the implementation of tools and KPIs for legal and compliance management.
• Work collaboratively with areas such as Marketing, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, HR and Technology.

Requirements

• Proven experience in corporate legal matters.
• Experience with regulatory matters, compliance and risk management.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial/business contracts.
• Knowledge of civil and labor litigation.
• Excellent legal drafting skills and ability to prepare legal opinions.
• Analytical, organized and solution-oriented profile.
• Postgraduate degree in Business Law, Compliance, Regulation, Corporate Governance or related areas.
• Knowledge of AML/CFT, Due Diligence, KYC, KYE and KYP.
• Experience in technology companies, digital platforms or regulated sectors.
• Intermediate to advanced English.
