Ownership of product strategy, roadmap, and complete lifecycle for IoT devices in the rail domain incl. creation and maintenance of product requirement documents
Coordination of new device developments and re-designs together with the lead engineer and system integration engineer
End-to-end thinking across device and IoT platform: identify domain-specific requirements and translate them into both product streams
Translation of market, customer, and domain requirements into technical requirements and features
Prioritization of functions and development tasks in alignment with device engineering and management
Direct interaction with customers, technical consultants and sales to understand rail market needs and feed them into product development (IoT devices and IoT platform)
Technical evaluation of concepts, variants, and supplier solutions
Accompanying certification and testing activities from a product perspective (e.g., rail compliance, ATEX, EMC)
Monitoring of product performance, field feedback, and quality KPIs
Initiation and steering of product improvements and redesigns based on data and feedback
Requirements
Completed degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering, or comparable
3+ years of experience in technical product management, systems engineering, or development of IoT or industrial products
Solid understanding of electronics, sensors, firmware, and mechanics
Experience with product roadmaps, requirements management, and development processes
Ability to think across domains: device, platform, customer value
Experience working with external development partners and suppliers
Strong analytical, communicative, and organizational skills
Fluent in English (written and spoken), German and/or Spanish are a Plus
Experience in the rail sector or understanding of rail-specific standards and certifications (e.g., EN 50155, EN 45545) is nice to have
Knowledge of standards, certifications (in particular certifications for explosive-sensitive environments), and quality management (e.g., ATEX, CE, EMC)
Experience working with platform teams or cross-product responsibility
Background in logistics, asset tracking, or telematics.
