Role Overview
- Responsible for independently managing and developing book categories in the German market
- Evaluation of new releases, backlist titles, series, themed collections and publishers
- Responsibility for operational ordering within the categories
- Analysis of sales figures, competitors, market trends and assortment performance
- Close collaboration with publishers and suppliers and maintenance of existing partnerships
Requirements
- Experience in purchasing/procurement, category management, product management, assortment management or a comparable commercial role
- Good understanding of books, topics, trends, target audiences and commercial potential
- Understanding of how book assortments are evaluated, listed, ordered and managed in online retail
- Confident with numbers and able to derive clear decisions from sales and performance data
- Structured, meticulous and implementation-focused when handling operational tasks such as listings, orders and data maintenance
- Clear and reliable communicator; enjoys working with publishers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Initial experience with Amazon FBA or additional knowledge of marketplace and e-commerce environments is a plus
- Very good German and English language skills
