Build strong, trusted relationships with coaches, players and performance staff, ensuring analysis is relevant, practical and aligned to the needs of the team.
Provide clear and timely opposition analysis, helping coaches and players understand strengths, threats, trends and opportunities.
Support the development and delivery of game plans by translating complex information into simple, actionable insights that can be applied on the training field and in competition.
Deliver comprehensive reviews of team and individual performance, identifying key learning points that support continuous improvement.
Produce coach and player-facing resources that strengthen understanding of the Welsh DNA, tactical principles, game strategy and positional requirements.
Develop and maintain performance measures and benchmarks that help assess progress against the team’s playing identity and performance objectives.
Deliver live and post-match analysis, ensuring coaches have access to accurate and relevant information when it matters most.
Produce player, positional and opposition profiles that support selection, succession planning and long-term squad development.
Contribute to scouting and intelligence processes, combining quantitative data, qualitative observations and rugby expertise to provide a rounded view of performance.
Support innovation and continuous improvement by contributing to research, insight and development projects across the performance environment.
Requirements
Has experience working within an elite international rugby environment.
Exceptional rugby knowledge, with the ability to contextualise technical and tactical insights and translate them into impactful coach
and player-facing materials.
Excellent knowledge of performance analysis systems, technologies, data and video analysis platforms used within elite rugby environments.
Significant experience in the collection, management and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative performance information, including opposition analysis, player scouting and the creation of coach
and player-facing insights.
Relevant qualifications and experience that demonstrate an understanding of the technical, tactical and physical demands of elite rugby.
Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across multidisciplinary performance teams.
Demonstrates professionalism, discretion and sound judgement, with the flexibility to meet the demands of an elite international rugby programme.
Excellent IT skills, specifically Google Workspace.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Ability to communicate and work through the medium of Welsh is desirable.
