About this role
Role Overview
Analyze complex medical records, military records, and VA decisions to identify the strongest legal path forward.
Develop legal strategy for Veterans Disability appeals.
Review VA Rating Decisions, Board decisions, C&P examinations, medical records, military records, and claims files.
Identify evidentiary strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to strengthen claims.
Determine appropriate legal theories, appeal options, and recommended next steps.
Apply VA statutes, regulations, case law, and firm strategy standards consistently across a high volume of cases.
Make independent legal decisions quickly while maintaining exceptional quality and accuracy.
Document legal strategy clearly and accurately within the firm’s case management system.
Collaborate with drafting attorneys and operations to ensure strategic recommendations are executed effectively.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Strong legal analysis, critical thinking, and issue-spotting skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to independently manage a high-volume workload.
Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to make sound legal decisions efficiently under production expectations.
Experience with Veterans Disability law, administrative law, or appellate practice preferred.
Experience reviewing medical records and complex evidentiary files preferred.
Experience working in a high-volume legal practice preferred.
Familiarity with VA regulations, disability ratings, and appeals preferred.
Military service or familiarity with military culture preferred.
