Role Overview
Service and maintain current accounts with orders and provide prompt, courteous customer service
Attending and participating in store resets as required
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads
Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, sells displays, present items for distribution, and handle damages and off-condition product
Quotes prices and credit terms for orders obtained
Various local chain responsibilities to include cluster sales and price submissions as assigned by Manager
Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules
Confers with District Manager to resolve customer problems
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
Identifies and responds to customers' needs
Maintains frequent and open communication with drivers, driver supervisors, district manager, sales managers and the general manager
Executes sales plans and maintains accounts according to company standards
Tracks and reports progress of goals on a weekly basis and/or as requested
Participates in supplier work-withs
Continually maintains training and product knowledge
Delivers emergency orders when needed
Attends trade shows
Conducts business according to local and state laws
Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
one to three months related experience and/or training
equivalent combination of education and experience
