Partner closely with two CSAA attorneys in the defense of insureds involved in litigation.
Handle personal injury defense matters, approximately 80% of caseload being auto-related.
Review legal files and draft legal documents including discovery responses, trial documents, jury instructions, and more.
Calculate statutory deadlines and complete assignments accordingly.
Conduct legal research on civil procedure and personal injury issues.
Interview insured clients for discovery purposes.
Assist in preparation of evidence for trial, arbitration, and mediation readiness.
Summarize plaintiff’s written discovery responses and follow up on subpoenas.
Comply with mandatory continuing legal education rules.
Work primarily remotely with infrequent travel.

Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certification(s) and/or licensure(s) in functional area
Paralegal certification per CA Business & Professions Code Section 6450-6456 or other applicable statute
Strong PC skills and knowledge of legal software applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe
Strong written skills needed to compose legal documents
Ability to handle and respond to sensitive and confidential information
Strong analytical, verbal communication, and organizational skills
Understand legal concepts, terminology, principles and procedures
Understand legal and professional ethics
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a litigation team.
