Atlas Copco is a leading provider of industrial solutions, and they are seeking a Business Development Manager for their Energy Conversion sector. This role focuses on driving sales growth and developing strategic partnerships for industrial heat pump and steam compressor solutions, while emphasizing sustainability and reducing carbon footprints.
Responsibilities:
- To sell industrial cooling, chillers, heat pumps, steam compressors and other energy conversion products that will be added in future for new greenfield or brownfield industrial projects, either directly or by collaborating with our existing sales team of air and gas compressor solution salespeople. Conducting plant surveys, report preparation and savings’ documentation
- To work closely with prime equipment and aftermarket sales colleagues to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction to clients
- Stay updated on industry regulations, energy policies, and government incentives for decarbonization and industrial energy efficiency
- To achieve or exceed assigned sales goals by developing action plans and schedules to identify specific sales prospects, targets, and/or markets and to forecast the number of contacts to be made
- To call on and sell Energy Conversion products to customers (end-users), EPC, and through existing distributor partners in your assigned area, and to actively engage in planned prospecting activities (cold calls, in-person and virtual meetings, compressed air system analysis, utilizing in-house lead generating sales tools, C4C, etc.) which increases the customer base in the territory
- To proactively follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
- To establish sustainable rapport within your area of responsibility by maintaining regular contact with sales team colleagues and existing / new customers
- To respond promptly to customer inquiries, introducing customers to our Energy Conversion capabilities, new products, and upgrades, studying customer needs, and coordinating customer service
- To continuously update their job knowledge (for products, market segments, competitive landscape, and sales/marketing strategies and skills) by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; networking; and participating in professional organizations
- To prepare reports as assigned relative to activity, lost orders, closings, follow-up, and performance against targets and forecasts
- To maintain all field activity consistently and proactively in the company CRM portal, including appointments, opportunity creation, proposal generation, pricing approvals, updated project notes, and short/medium/long-term pipeline management
- To prepare and present proposals, negotiate pricing, and be actively involved in negotiating legal and credit terms
- Perform other duties as assigned
- To oversee customer services through quality checks and follow-up; to help in identifying and resolving customer concerns
- To always maintain a professional image through personal actions and initiatives, by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers
- To enhance the Company’s reputation and brand image by consistently working to implement the Company’s core values of commitment, interaction, and innovation
- To obtain, develop, prepare, deliver, and present sales materials, exhibits, and promotional programs when attending exhibits, conferences, meetings, and other local, regional, and national promotional opportunities
- To prepare a yearly territory business plan through deep analysis of market segments, products and applications, competitive landscape, etc
Requirements:
- 7+ years experience in thermal management (industrial chillers / steam boilers/ system systems, heat pumps, thermodynamics, thermal integration), preferably including some experience in a direct sales or customer service capacity
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, steam cycles, and refrigeration technologies
- Strong technical and commercial acumen to translate product capabilities into customer benefits
- Excellent presentation and communication skills to engage internal teams and external stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with experience in market research, competitive analysis, and pricing strategies
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software, and digital marketing tools
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Thermal & Power Engineering, chemical engineering or a related field
- Dynamic motivating person with strong communicative and convincing qualities
