They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for leading engineering projects, overseeing project scope, and ensuring effective resource allocation while mentoring team members and applying technical expertise in electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical engineering technical work for complex projects
- Track project progress, including scope, schedule, and fee
- Oversee technical review and provide high quality deliverables
- In depth knowledge for team guidance of models, plans, details, and drawings of electrical engineering systems and components according to established standards and modeling techniques
- In depth knowledge for team guidance of electrical design for various systems including medium-voltage distribution, microgrids, photovoltaic, battery systems, building power systems, lighting design, and low voltage systems
- In depth knowledge for team guidance of electrical calculations including SKM analysis, arc flash, and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools preferred)
- Support career development and technical skill advancement of team members
- Motivate and inspire team members
- Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Foster a collaborative team culture with a focus on innovation and excellence, where team members are encouraged to push boundaries and think creatively
- Manage project and staffing plans, adjusting them as necessary to meet changing project needs
- Oversee engineering project phases from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
- Serve as a technical expert and discipline representative at various meetings and events as required
- Deliver presentations at conferences, networking events, and professional organizations to highlight the distinctive and innovative services Woolpert offers to clients
- Conduct training sessions for internal employees when necessary
Requirements:
- BA/BS or MA/MS in related field and fifteen (15) years related experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading engineering projects
- Experience in building power systems, lighting design, medium-voltage distribution, SKM analysis, and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools preferred)
- Experience with building electrical system design for commercial, mixed-use, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise preferred
- Experience designing sustainable building systems, including familiarity with LEED, Green Building Institute, or other sustainability credentialing
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Expert verbal and written communication abilities for both internal and external relationships
- Experience with discipline related software applications and calculation tools
- Substantial experience designing in Autodesk Revit 3-D modeling software and directing the preparation of construction documents
- Experience conducting and leading QAQC and coordination of design documents between disciplines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including scientific and technical journals, handbooks, and industry information
- Ability to provide effective responses to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community
- Able to write technical opinions, articles, and thought leadership social media using original or innovative techniques or style
- Willing to travel to project sites or offices, as needed
