Data Engineering Intern

Prometric is a leading provider of technology-enabled testing and assessment solutions. They are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Data Engineering Intern to assist in building and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing databases, and contributing to data-driven projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process data from various sources
• Support the creation and optimization of data storage solutions, including data lakes and warehouses
• Work with large and complex datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and security
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data needs and requirements
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure efficient and error-free data processing
• Work with Database engineers to understand the infrastructure that backends data platforms

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python, SQL, or Java
• Basic knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and data modeling concepts
• Understanding of big data tools or cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, Apache Spark) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Eagerness to learn and collaborate in a team-oriented environment
• Familiarity with tools like Azure Data Factory, Synapse Studio, Azure Data Lake
• Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., CosmosDB, CouchDB)
• Interest in learning about data governance, privacy, and security
