Maximus is a mission-driven consumer health company focused on optimizing men's health through an advanced telemedicine platform. As the Lead QA Engineer, you will establish and lead the QA strategy, build and manage the QA team, and implement scalable testing processes to ensure the quality and reliability of the platform.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of our QA strategy across our applications
- Build and manage a high-performing QA team, establishing best practices and mentoring team members
- Design and implement automated testing frameworks that support our event-sourced architecture
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams during sprint planning to ensure quality is built into our development process
- Establish quality metrics and reporting mechanisms to track and improve system reliability
- Ensure testing coverage for HIPAA compliance and healthcare-specific requirements
- Create and maintain test plans for critical systems including prescription management, lab testing integrations, and payment processing
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and provide quality-focused input during backlog refinement
Requirements:
- 5+ years of QA engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Ruby/Rails and React testing frameworks
- Strong understanding of API testing
- Proven track record of building and scaling QA processes in fast-growing organizations
- Experience with performance testing and monitoring tools
- Excellence in written communication and documentation
- Background in agile methodologies and sprint-based development
- Testing Frameworks: RSpec, Jest, Cypress
- CI/CD: Experience with automated testing pipelines
- Monitoring & Debugging: Familiarity with APM tools
- Database Testing: PostgreSQL
- API Testing: REST, GraphQL
- Security Testing: Understanding of OWASP and security best practices
- Performance Testing: Load testing, stress testing, scalability testing
