Körber Supply Chain is a company focused on pioneering technologies in the material handling industry. They are seeking a Controls Engineer II to develop control system designs, deploy PLC code, and create user interfaces for material-handling systems, while collaborating with electrical engineering teams and improving productivity.
Responsibilities:
- You will develop control system designs, develop, deploy, & commission Programmable Logic Controller code, and develop graphical user interfaces for material handling systems
- You will test and emulate code functionality before on-site deployment and testing
- You will troubleshoot PLC code and electrical equipment functionality on-site during commissioning and testing activities
- You will collaborate with Electrical Engineering resources to support control network architecture requirements and design
- You will define electrical device requirements for system control
- You will support estimates for complex module development and system commissioning requirements
- You will perform reviews of complex customer standards & specifications and other documentation to determine system requirements
- You will develop recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction
- You will complete the software quality process through the execution of complex module, subsystem, and system test procedures
- You can travel up to 70% of the year, working short-duration assignments up to and including multiple 10/4 rotations, depending on the project requirements
Requirements:
- You have obtained a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
- You have gained five (5) years of work experience in the material handling industry or a similar industry required; a master's degree may be considered in lieu of experience, in which at least 3 years of work experience is required
- You have experience with Rockwell Automation PLC programming, including GuardLogix and Siemens TIA Portal PLC programming, including Starter
- You have experience with Ethernet/IP network architecture
- You have experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings and understanding HMI programming
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven interpersonal and customer service skills
- You have proven supervisory and leadership skills
