Soltesz is a reputable civil engineering firm dedicated to providing innovative and sustainable solutions for land development and infrastructure projects. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer to lead and support various civil engineering projects, including roadway design and stormwater management, while ensuring compliance with local regulations and fostering professional growth within the team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage systems, sediment and erosion control, stormwater management, and water and sewer infrastructure
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to ensure project compliance and timely delivery
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports to support project development and permitting processes
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet client expectations and company standards
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering professional growth and technical excellence
- Ensure all project designs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including Prince George's County requirements
- Participate in project meetings, presentations, and client communications to provide technical expertise and project updates
- Handle multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high-quality standards and attention to detail
- Contribute to business development efforts by preparing proposals and supporting client engagement activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in land development design and construction, with specific experience in the Washington D.C. Metro area preferred
- Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, local codes, and regulations, especially in Prince George's County, Maryland
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and review agencies
- Experience in preparing technical reports, exhibits, and construction plans
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train junior staff
- Maryland Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not mandatory
