Liberty University is seeking remarkable faculty to teach online Engineering coursework in various disciplines. The role involves teaching, advising students, and fostering a commitment to the university's mission while ensuring a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- It is expected that an online faculty member will model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically-informed Christian worldview. The candidate must be committed to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University
- Teach from the approved curriculum in accordance with an assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction
- Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes
- Provide regular and timely feedback to students
- Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive conduct with students and by getting in touch with, and offering assistance to absent students
- Advise students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors
- Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process
- Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies
- Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Earned a graduate degree or doctorate in an Engineering discipline such as Civil, Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, or Engineering Management
- To teach at the baccalaureate level, possess a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the related discipline with experience desired
- To teach at the Master's level, possess a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the related discipline and hold a related, conferred terminal degree
- 3 – 5 years teaching experience either in a classroom or online or a combination of both
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years applied experience in a related field
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community customers and associates
- Strong organizational skills
- Computer and scheduling skills
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature
- May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally
