About this role
Brilliant® is a company focused on telecommunications, seeking a Lead OSP Engineer to provide technical leadership and project oversight for Outside Plant engineering initiatives. The role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards while managing full projects and collaborating across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical authority for OSP design and construction standards
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with NEC, NESC, and local codes
- Oversee route evaluations, permitting, and constructability assessments
- Lead engineering efforts for entire projects or designated subsections
- Manage timelines, budgets, and quality metrics to ensure successful delivery
- Coordinate with project managers, permitting agencies, and field teams to resolve technical issues
- Act as the liaison between engineering teams, clients, and municipalities
- Support proposal development, RFP responses, and strategic planning for new projects
- Mentor and supervise engineers, designers, and GIS specialists
- Promote process improvements and implement automation initiatives
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Civil, or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 7+ years in OSP engineering
- At least 3 years in a leadership role
- Expertise in fiber optic and copper network design
- Proficiency in GIS and CAD tools (ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, Other Spatial Platforms)
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Knowledge of permitting processes and regulatory compliance
