NerdWallet is on a mission to bring clarity to all of life's financial decisions, and they are seeking a CRM Marketing Manager II to manage and drive email communications for their user base. The role involves developing, implementing, and optimizing engagement campaigns, managing the CRM platform, and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance user engagement and campaign effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Drive CRM strategy - Identify and translate business goals into an effective CRM marketing strategy and operational vision for all campaigns within your area of responsibility, mapping out the appropriate customer journey and build segmentation strategies from onboarding through churn mitigation and winback
- Let data tell the story - drive campaign optimizations with a data-driven roadmap and clear metrics, sharing detailed performance, test results, and best practices
- Drive operational excellence - develop and document best practices and workflows for our CRM operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring we are compliant with all relevant data privacy regulations and that our processes are scalable and efficient
- Maintain alignment and prioritization - You thrive on efficiency and will effectively manage multiple priorities, implement complex and streamlined processes, and evaluate incoming requests for resourcing and effectiveness. You will work closely with fellow CRM marketing managers to provide prioritization guidance while managing multiple priorities. You will partner cross-functionally with Analytics, Product, Engineering, Program Management, and Creative teams to identify and act upon opportunities to create broad-reaching impact
Requirements:
- Extensive hands-on experience with at least one major CRM/marketing automation platform (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable, Braze, HubSpot, Marketo, Klaviyo)
- Strong understanding of data structures, segmentation logic, and data management principles
- Experience with API integrations and webhooks to connect and sync data between different marketing tools and data sources
- Proficient in HTML/CSS for building and troubleshooting email templates
- Familiarity with a scripting language like AMPscript, handlebars, or Liquid for advanced personalization and dynamic content
- Proven ability to analyze campaign performance, A/B test results, and customer data to identify trends and make data-driven recommendations
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues, data discrepancies, and campaign-related challenges
- A knack for identifying inefficiencies and developing new processes, workflows, and best practices to improve operational excellence
- Ability to see the big picture and understand how CRM operations impact the entire customer lifecycle and business goals
- Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for ensuring campaign accuracy, data integrity, and regulatory compliance
- Strong project management skills to manage multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and flawless execution
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and marketing
- 3+ years experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- General knowledge of or direct experience with CDPs (e.g., Segment, mParticle)
- Intermediate or expert level skill in HTML, CSS, and scripting languages (like JavaScript or Python) for more complex custom development, advanced dynamic content, or custom API integrations
- Experience with dedicated A/B testing and experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, VWO)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with non-marketing teams, particularly engineering, data, and product
- A solid understanding of data privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA
- Familiarity with project management methodologies like Agile or Scrum
