Inman is a leading source of real estate information known for its innovative journalism and technology coverage. The Email Marketing Manager will manage and execute email marketing programs, translating business objectives into data-driven campaigns that enhance engagement, conversion, and retention.
Responsibilities:
- Own execution and performance of Inman’s email program across engagement, conversion, retention, revenue, and LTV
- Balance platform management and execution, owning segmentation, automation, testing, optimization, QA, and reporting
- Execute lifecycle, behavioral, and triggered campaigns supporting acquisition, onboarding, and long-term growth
- Support Editorial teams in executing newsletters, including scheduling, segmentation, testing, QA, and performance reporting
- Partner with Editorial to optimize newsletter engagement, growth, and retention without compromising editorial standards or voice
- Manage email tools and workflows to ensure scalability, reliability, and operational excellence
- Improve performance through structured experimentation, A/B and multivariate testing, and data analysis
- Maintain deliverability, list hygiene, compliance, and data integrity standards
- Partner with content, marketing, sales, and product teams to align execution with broader initiatives
- Translate insights into clear recommendations that influence prioritization and execution decisions
Requirements:
- 2+ years of B2C email marketing experience (subscription, media, or app-based businesses preferred)
- Comfortable working in a high volume environment as an individual contributor
- Proven ownership of execution and performance against KPIs such as conversion, retention, revenue, and LTV
- Ability to work independently
- Experience partnering with content or editorial teams on newsletter or content-driven email programs
- Experience with CRM or marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sailthru, Iterable, Braze, HubSpot, Marketo, or Klaviyo)
- Expert knowledge of data privacy and consent management
- Strong understanding of segmentation, personalization, lifecycle marketing, and full-funnel dynamics
- Analytical mindset with experience running structured A/B and multivariate tests
- Excellent conversion-focused copywriting and editing skills
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email customization and troubleshooting
- High attention to detail, strong QA discipline, and solid project management skills
- Clear communicator able to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
- Familiarity with CDP (e.g., Segment, BlueConic)
- Experience with SailThru (required)
- Success using AI tools to optimize email performance
