Avalara is an AI-first company focused on transforming finance operations. The Senior Program Manager, Finance Transformation will lead programs that align technology, process, and strategy to ensure scalable and compliant financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise-wide finance transformation programs from planning through execution, aligned with Avalara's Finance AI Operations strategy
- Manage programs across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, IT, and Engineering to deliver automation, systems integration, and process improvements
- You will build structured roadmaps with clear milestones, risks, and success metrics
- Establish governance, compliance, and change management practices that support audit readiness and global adoption
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in program or project management, with a focus on finance transformation or operations
- Track record leading large-scale, initiatives in global or high-growth environments
- Knowledge of finance processes and systems (e.g., Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Quote-to-Cash)
- Experience with compliance and controls frameworks, including audit and SOX
- Proficiency with project tools such as Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Confluence
- Experienced in executive communication and stakeholder management across functions and time zones
- MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field
- Certification in PMP, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience using AI, RPA, or analytics to automate finance operations
- Familiarity with financial compliance in SaaS or global enterprise environments
