ApTask is a leading global provider of workforce solutions and talent acquisition services. They are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Associate Project Manager to support settlement fund distribution processes in a class action environment, working closely with internal teams and law firms to ensure compliance and timely disbursement of funds.
Responsibilities:
- Review, track, and manage trust-required authorization forms, lien documents, releases, and disbursement materials received from law firms
- Communicate with law firm paralegals and case managers to obtain outstanding documentation and clarify requirements
- Identify missing documentation or errors and provide timely follow-ups for corrections
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with settlement trust documentation requirements
- Coordinate with the Disbursements team to confirm claimant files are complete prior to payment initiation
- Track payment status and assist in resolving discrepancies related to banking or check information
- Support quality control reviews to ensure claimant amounts, allocations, and documentation are accurate
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready internal database records
- Partner with the Project Manager to align with trust disbursement schedules and escalate risks as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Claims Operations, Data Services, and Finance
- Prepare internal reports on claimant readiness, documentation completeness, and law firm responsiveness
- Provide status updates and reporting to Trustees or clients as required
- Maintain compliance logs and support audit readiness
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of paralegal or legal support experience (mass tort or settlement distribution preferred)
- Experience working directly with law firms or claimants strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent relevant experience (Paralegal certification preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and issue-spotting abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
