Precor is known for developing and manufacturing innovative commercial fitness equipment. They are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to lead efforts in generating new revenue primarily within the YMCA segment and supporting additional strategic accounts as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business acquisition with a primary focus on the YMCA segment, while maintaining flexibility to pursue additional strategic opportunities outside of YMCA
- Identify, prospect, and develop new customer relationships through outbound outreach, networking, and industry engagement
- Build strong relationships with YMCA leaders, executives, and decision-makers to generate qualified opportunities and close new business
- Own the sales cycle from lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and close
- Develop and maintain an actionable territory/business plan outlining pipeline activity, time allocation, and revenue targets
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Service teams to ensure a strong customer experience and successful solution delivery
- Prepare and present customer proposals, including pricing, delivery, service, and leasing options
- Represent the company professionally at YMCA events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand visibility and pipeline
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of company products and services and communicate value in a clear, customer-focused way
- Proactively manage communication, follow-up, and responsiveness throughout the sales process to drive momentum and trust
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in business development, account management, or consultative sales
- Proven ability to generate new business and manage a full-cycle sales process
- Strong ability to communicate, present, and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive audiences
- Experience developing and executing territory plans, pipeline strategy, and sales forecasting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail
- Demonstrated success delivering customer-focused solutions and building long-term partnerships
- 2+ years of selling in a direct commercial sales environment and / or sales management experience
- Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach
- Extensive experience in cold calling, prospecting and qualifying leads
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience using Salesforce.com or other CRM tool
