Orion Groups is a professional services firm based in McKinney, Texas that provides experienced consultants to key organizations across the United States. They are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead a short-term project supporting access changes associated with retiring functionality within internal applications and implementing new access workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the day‑to‑day Project Manager for the access‑retirement effort
- Apply structure, organization, and planning to a project currently being supported by senior leaders with limited bandwidth
- Manage timelines, deliverables, risks, and issues; escalate as needed
- Coordinate closely with HR, Security, and technical teams to track progress and ensure alignment
- Lead Organizational Readiness activities, including stakeholder communications, change management tasks, and identifying training needs
- Support development and organization of training sessions for impacted users
- Facilitate cross‑functional meetings with business stakeholders and program directors
- Partner with technical SMEs for system impacts; no custom application knowledge required
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, Smartsheet trackers, slides, and status reports
- Drive execution to meet the March/April transition timeline
Requirements:
- Prior experience as an IT or business project manager in agile environments
- Proven ability to organize complex workstreams and drive execution independently
- Experience with stakeholder and vendor management
- Experience with Smartsheets
- Experience with Google Sheets & Google Slides including Google Suite collaboration tools
- Experience with ServiceNow PPM
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience considered
