They are seeking an IT Cloud Engineer to develop and support enterprise cloud solutions, ensuring compliance and integration with existing systems while collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and enabling features and capabilities in existing products
- Ensuring that enterprise cloud solutions are designed, delivered, and supported
- Developing internal and external compatibility of the system and subsystems
- Developing moderately complex scripts using a tool or combination of tools to automate a task or a series of tasks
- Developing and complying with SLAs or OLAs
- Documenting new or modified solutions, installation instructions, and other system-related information
- Writing configuration for cloud platforms leveraging appropriate tools
- Collaborating with developers and being responsible for the 'Ops' part of DevOps
- Developing and maintaining tools and frameworks that other teams use to smoothly develop their applications
- Using technology to implement automation and orchestration
- Developing, building, or implementing cloud solutions based on business and technology considerations to satisfy customer needs
- Integrating cloud solutions with existing enterprise tools and systems
- Ensuring compliance of cloud solutions to architectural standards
- Performing evaluations of enterprise cloud technology standards, tools, products, and solutions to identify opportunities for improvement
- Working with information security to ensure Cloud solutions support maintenance of a secure technology environment
- Assisting with planning and validating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cloud solutions
- Supporting compliance of role-based access control (RBAC), cost containment and cloud provider account management
- Assisting in developing time and cost estimates for cloud solutions
- Developing, reviewing, and modifying Cloud systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
- Participating in evaluation of technical requirements to determine the impact of Cloud technologies on the infrastructure including equipment redundancy and capacity requirements
- Supporting and maintaining the physical design for cloud-based solutions for infrastructure and platforms
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years' experience with 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience, or Associate's degree with 5 years' experience with 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience, or HS/GED with 7 years of experience in a large, complex organization like Mayo Clinic may be considered in lieu of the degree
- Experience deploying and operating on a public cloud framework
- Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical ability and data-driven mindset
- Ability to rapidly acquire new knowledge and skills
- Familiarity with service design and pricing in the context of cloud-based solutions
- Experience with cloud deployment, technical and security architecture, database architecture, virtualization, software design, software development, IP networking, Linux, Agile development, SCRUM, application lifecycle management, .NET, programming languages, technical solution architecture, SOA, Windows Azure, Amazon AWS
- Certification in cloud engineering is required within 12-24 months. The following certifications are acceptable for this requirement: Google Associate Cloud Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Terraform Associate, or similar certifications at the same or higher technical level
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud SQL, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Workflows, Cloud Functions, Cloud Load Balancing, IAM & Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP), VPC Service Controls, Private Service Connect, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networking, and Cloud Armor)
- Experience with Terraform, Python, Azure Pipelines, Azure DevOps, Google Cloud APIs, Apigee APIs, automation tools and concepts, Cloud Load Balancing, Akamai Web Security, Identity-Aware Proxy, Checkov, Veracode, Sailpoint, service accounts and permissions, ServiceNow, and Sharepoint
