Cleo is a fast-growing fintech company on a mission to change humanity's relationship with money. The Motion Designer will lead the creation of animated creative for paid channels, driving performance through innovative storytelling and design.
Responsibilities:
- Concept, design, and animate high-performing paid social creative from initial idea through to delivery
- Translate scripts, insights, and product features into compelling, motion-led narratives grounded in strong visual design
- Apply strong typography, layout, and composition principles before a single keyframe is set
- Create cohesive visual systems across campaigns — ensuring assets feel intentional and designed, not templated
- Partner closely with Growth to iterate quickly based on performance data and testing insights
- Develop repeatable motion frameworks and templates that support rapid experimentation while maintaining craft
- Collaborate with Brand to ensure performance work aligns with Cleo’s wider identity and creative ambition
- Explore AI and emerging tools to speed up production and unlock new creative possibilities
Requirements:
- A portfolio that shows exceptional motion craft and strong graphic design thinking — especially within ads, campaigns, or digital-first environments
- Deep expertise in After Effects, with strong Figma skills and a solid grasp of typography, layout, hierarchy, and visual systems
- A strong sense of timing, pacing, and storytelling — you know how to design for attention in the first few seconds
- Experience creating performance-driven creative and working within growth or test-and-learn environments
- The ability to use data and insights to inform iteration — without sacrificing originality or craft
- A high bar for detail — from kerning and easing curves to visual consistency across formats
- The ability to think beyond individual assets and contribute to campaign-level thinking and scalable creative systems
