Senior Business/Data Analyst (Insurance Domain)

Extend Information Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior Business/Data Analyst to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders in the insurance sector. The role focuses on analyzing complex datasets, identifying trends, and creating actionable insights, along with building automated reporting solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Triaging and Analysis: Investigate complex data discrepancies, analyze root causes, and prioritize issues for resolution
• Data Engineering/SQL: Write advanced SQL queries to extract and manipulate large-scale data from, preferably, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server environments
• Python & Scripting: Utilize Python for data analysis, data manipulation, and automating routine data tasks
• Reporting & Visualization: Develop, maintain, and manage interactive dashboards and reports using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
• Domain Expertise: Apply insurance industry knowledge (e.g., claims processing, policy management, underwriting data) to guide analysis
• Stakeholder Management: Translate business requirements into technical requirements for engineering teams

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role
• Demonstrated experience in the Insurance sector (Property and Casualty)
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (complex joins, subqueries, optimization)
• Proficient in Python data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy)
• Deep experience in Power BI (DAX) and Power Apps
• Experience with data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS/Azure cloud platforms)
