Guidehouse is a consulting firm that focuses on digital consulting services. The Business Analyst will work on implementing capabilities for an enterprise financial software system, analyzing requirements, developing user stories, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure project success.
Responsibilities:
- Critically reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs, ultimately producing clear user stories, documentation, and other deliverables such as use cases, flow diagram, architecture diagrams etc
- Facilitates discussions with the right stakeholders to clarify the scope. Works closely with product owners and managers to convert business requirements use cases into actionable tasks for the development team
- Writes high quality user stories and ensures stories are refined and pointed in a timely manner to enable planned milestones
- Leads and executes efforts to produce documentation related to system information architecture and processes which may include: technical requirements, functional specifications, data flow diagrams, high-level test cases, requirements traceability matrices, flow charts, wireframes/mockups, user stories, and use case documentation
- Conducts presentations and communicates product features to both technical and non-technical communities and aids in the coordination and communication of cross-team initiatives
- Paving and planning for technical project execution, tracking, presenting, and incorporating data-driven metrics to drive improvements, defining and recording current and future business processes and identifying potential improvements. The position will require working closely with Program and Project Managers and Project Architect / Technical Lead
- Liaise with internal and external project stakeholders to help coordinate agile across the large program
- Work with Product Owner to ensure a groomed, quality Agile backlog Maintain project life-cycle documentation and tactical and strategic project tracking systems, primarily Atlassian Confluence, Jira, and Portfolio
- Prepare and deliver status updates, working sessions, and program area updates
Requirements:
- US Citizenship or Green Card
- Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD 'PUBLIC TRUST'; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
- Minimum of Three (3) or more years of experience as a Business Analyst working on agile software development projects
- Bachelor's degree or four (4) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Solid understanding of Agile development life cycle and knowledge in both Agile and traditional project management
- Ability to communicate complex technical problems to a non-technical audience
- Experience with JIRA
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, Visio or equivalent
- Experience working on a pilot phase implementation, including the ability to interface with customer to help clearly define scope and requirements
- Experience with federal government systems
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to maintain a big-picture vision while defining very detailed requirements
- Experience working on, coordinating, and communicating on cross-team initiatives
- Familiar with information technology architecture, governance, and data exchange
- Should be local to area and willing to be onsite as needed
- Experience with Confluence
