The Senior Technical Thermal Sales Engineer will drive sales growth of thermal management equipment by leveraging technical expertise and collaborating with account managers to develop tailored solutions for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Review and respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs) for Vertiv thermal management solutions, including detailed specification analysis, mechanical drawing review, and initial equipment configuration assistance
- Support the development of conceptual thermal designs, offering technical input on product selection, sizing, and schematic layouts to ensure optimal system performance
- Participate in virtual or in-person design reviews with customers and internal teams to align solutions with customer needs and technical standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product management, engineering, and sales to support product development and customer-specific solutions
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and project-specific bid forms to facilitate smooth project execution
- Contribute to strategic account planning and customer engagement initiatives by providing detailed technical insights and recommendations
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during customer visits and industry events, representing Vertiv’s technical capabilities and solutions
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and materials to foster continuous innovation and improvement within the department
- Provide feedback to product managers regarding product enhancements and future development opportunities based on customer and market insights
- Promote a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and process improvement within the team
- Offer training, mentorship, and support to less experienced team members to build technical expertise and team cohesion
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4 to 8 years of industry-specific technical experience, particularly in thermal management or related sectors
- Proven expertise in managing high-profile projects
- Deep understanding of Vertiv's thermal product portfolio
- Strong market knowledge and industry trends
- Proven track record of influencing engineering and sales accounts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate complex technical challenges into actionable solutions
- Experience working with sales teams and cross-functional departments
- Confident, customer-focused approach to problem-solving and relationship management
