Alfred Benesch Company is a growing, multi-disciplined planning, engineering, and professional services firm. They are seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to lead high-impact geotechnical projects across the U.S., balancing technical excellence, client partnership, and business development while mentoring teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex geotechnical projects from concept through completion, managing budget, schedule, and quality
- Oversee field explorations, subsurface investigations, laboratory testing, and construction observation
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and proposals that support project delivery and business development
- Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to deliver innovative geotechnical solutions
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance across projects
- Track project progress, identify risks, and implement strategies to ensure successful outcomes
Requirements:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- 12+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, including project management
- Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain PE quickly
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (AutoCAD, Geostudio, Lpile, or similar)
- Knowledge of transportation and railroad design and construction standards
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to travel to project sites nationwide
- M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering
