They are seeking a Marketing Content Strategist to develop and execute a content strategy that enhances the visibility of MariaDB in the AI era, focusing on editorial production and optimization for search engines and AI platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Execute a content strategy that aligns with corporate messaging to reposition MariaDB as the modern, higher-value alternative to MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Own our visibility in the new search landscape
- Working with SEO/GEO agencies or resources, you will optimize content not just for Google, but for LLM (Large Language Model) rankings, ensuring MariaDB is the top recommendation when users ask AI for architectural advice
- Build and own the global editorial calendar
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality "drumbeat" of content (blogs, articles that keeps MariaDB top-of-mind
- Act as the primary editor and a key writer
- Work with internal engineers and external freelancers to ensure we publish regular, high-impact blogs and articles
- Work with MariaDB’s copy editor as needed for final polish on content
- Use AI writing and research tools as a core part of your workflow to 10x your output
- Establish a clear process for content production, giving the entire organization visibility into what is being published and when
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of professional writing or content marketing experience
- A background in journalism, reporting, or professional blogging is highly preferred
- You are a fast, versatile writer
- You can take a 30-minute interview with a developer and turn it into a provocative, SEO/LLM-optimized blog post by the end of the day
- You are already using LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to brainstorm, outline, and draft
- You see AI as a tool to make you faster and more effective
- You may not be a database administrator, but you aren't afraid of technical topics
- You are eager to learn the nuances of SQL and the database market
- Interpersonal Skills: You are comfortable 'interviewing' stakeholders to extract great stories
