They are seeking a dynamic Director for their IT Project Management Office to align IT projects with strategic goals and drive business value through effective leadership and governance.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Alignment: Partner with executive leadership to define, prioritize, and manage the IT project portfolio, ensuring it aligns with the company's strategic objectives and drives business value
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
- Governance & Standardization: Establish and govern world-class project management processes, tools, and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) across the organization
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the entire IT project portfolio, from ideation to completion. Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and project sequencing to maximize efficiency and impact
- Financial Management: Develop and manage project budgets, track project costs, and ensure all projects are delivered within their financial constraints, providing transparent reporting on ROI
- Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure project success and minimize business disruption
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of communication for the IT project portfolio. Deliver clear, concise, and accurate updates on project progress, risks, and outcomes to all stakeholders, from project teams to the C-suite
- Change Management: Lead change management initiatives related to project execution and the adoption of new project management practices, ensuring a smooth transition and a positive reception from all stakeholders
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5-8 years in a leadership role overseeing a complex portfolio of IT projects
- Methodologies: Expert-level knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and managing a team of project managers
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executive-level stakeholders
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and devise effective solutions to complex challenges
- Education: Bachelor or Master's degree is highly preferred
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly preferred
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project
- Industry Experience: Experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment is a plus
- Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills for managing vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders
