They are seeking a remote Project Manager / Quality Control Specialist to manage residential plumbing work orders, ensuring quality control and technical accuracy before work proceeds. The role involves collaborating with contractors and internal teams to maintain high standards and resolve issues efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and review a large volume of plumbing work orders per day across multiple job sites (all residential)
- Evaluate contractor reports, photos, and videos to verify diagnoses and scope accuracy
- Spot incomplete or inaccurate bids and work with contractors to resolve before escalation
- Provide technical direction to contractors—escalating quality concerns as needed
- Ensure all relevant data, documentation, and system entries are accurate and complete
- Act as the final internal QA before work is approved, scheduled, or billed
- Use internal platforms and documentation tools to manage day-to-day activity efficiently
- Collaborate with internal operations team to troubleshoot delays, material gaps, or job issues
Requirements:
- 3–5+ years of hands-on plumbing experience (residential strongly preferred)
- Strong diagnostic instincts and ability to assess work from photos, videos, and contractor notes
- Familiarity with common issues in residential plumbing (leaks, clogs, water heater failures, etc.)
- Ability to spot sloppy fieldwork, challenge assumptions, and steer contractors to correct scope
- Clear, confident verbal communication—you need to push back with precision, not aggression
- Willingness to trade fieldwork for full-time remote employment
- Fast learning curve with new software—this role relies on a custom internal platform, not off-the-shelf tools
- Organized and comfortable managing dozens of open work orders simultaneously
- Fluency in English (verbal and written); clear and concise communicator
